Newly introduced to the UK is a range of ultra slim, lightweight guides called Minima. Incorporating a double swaged (the ring is locked in position on both sides by the guide frame) SS304 ring and finished in a durable, attractive TiCH coating, the guides have been developed and extensively tested in the US, although these could have been purpose made for fishing in Britain with our wide ranging specialist fishing applications.
Weighing 20-30% less and offering a much greater ring surface area than equivalent sized ceramic guides, results in faster blank action, reduced friction and increased distance.
Seen here on the left is the Minima model 'TV' in a size 30 stood next to the same sized standard guide. Note the difference in surface area with the Minima ring. Along with the Model 'SV', which is the single leg style guide, virtually every branch of the freshwater scene is covered.
The fly angler is not forgotten with the single foot Model 'F' and the Model 'T' which makes an excellent stripper guide. Incidentally this model also excels for use on Jerkbait rods, drastically reducing the weight of the rod, a blessing when used all day. Matching Minima tips complete the range.
Also available in a stylish black finish with gold ring but this version is single swaged. This would not be a problem with normal use and care of the rod.
